In 2019, KSsense turned her love for spoken word into film. She relentlessly reached out to videographers for support to put her work into film however, her efforts failed. In consequence, KSsense took it upon herself to self-teach filming and editing and started directing her vision of turning poetry/spoken word into visual art. Within a year KSsense learnt skills and techniques to turn her self-published book ‘A Woman Undressed’ In to 5 stand-alone spoken word short films. The films covered issues on date rape, FGM (Female Genital Mutilation), anxiety and depression and empowering the black woman in creative industries also, 90’s R&B parody to show tribute to music she grew up with. Each film serves a different message. Her intentions with these films are to create awareness and conversations. To initiate a space for people to walk away and think, research, feel or even be present.
